Lactation Consults

I work with the Breezy Babies team providing in-home consults in Northern Utah, 30 minutes/miles from Kaysville and telehealth consults worldwide. I can bill most insurances through The Lactation Network.

In person Classes In Northern Utah

Prenatal classes help you prepare to feed your baby, get to best start for a milk supply, know how to troubleshoot when problems arise, and help you build your support network.

Amazon Recommendations

Amazon seems to have everything to help make your lactation story easier. Check out the things I like. There are many categories, and it’s my main go-to for flange inserts plus extras.

  • Because feeding your baby can feel really overwhelming—and you don’t have to figure it out alone. As an RN and IBCLC, I bring clinical knowledge, 20 years of professional experience, personal experience of struggling with feeding my own babies, and compassionate, personalized support to help families meet their feeding goals—whatever those look like. Whether it’s latching, pumping, supplementing, or a combo, I’m here to troubleshoot challenges, answer questions, and make feeding feel more manageable and joyful.

  • Honestly, sooner is better! I love working with families during pregnancy because we can prepare together, talk through their hopes and questions, understand their specific health history and that may affect latching and/or making milk, and build their confidence before the baby arrives. But if their baby is already here—anytime is the right time. Whether they’re a few days in or a few months down the road, it’s never too late to get support.

I provide individualized consults in person or telehealth through the Breezy Babies team where we can bill many insurances. I teach a prenatal Lactation 101 course monthly in Kaysville, have an expanded version of that class with lifetime access as an online course on my website, and I host a free support group in Kaysville on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 1-2 pm each month.

  • I try to build rapport as quickly as possible. Because of that, I will match the client’s energy and the feel of the room. I’ve had appointments where we whispered the whole time and others where we talked as fast as we could to get all the questions asked and answered before their toddler woke up from a nap.

Appointments are supportive and all about the family and their baby. Clients fill out a form before the first visit so I have an idea about the pregnancy, delivery, and how it’s been doing. I take the time to look up health conditions and current medications. Sometimes we start by talking about the feeding journey so far—what’s going well, what’s been hard, and what their goals are. And sometimes we jump right into the feeding because the baby is so ready, and, once the baby is calm, then I’ll circle back around to talk about how it’s been! If the appointment is in person, then I’ll do an assessment on the baby (head to toe, front to back, and an oral assessment), weigh the baby, and then I’ll observe a feeding and offer hands-on help to get them both feeling more comfortable and confident. If the appointment is virtual, then I’ll observe and ask a lot of questions for the assessment and feeding. I leave families with a follow up email of a clear plan so they don’t have to remember everything we talked about, real tips and tools, and ongoing support.

  • Yes! I work with the Breezy Babies team of lactation consultants to do individual consults. If you live in the United States, then I can bill many insurances. If I'm not in network with your insurance, then you have the option to do a self pay visit and use a health saving or flex account if you have that. I'm sorry, but I can't bill for health coverage  plans in another country.
